SUNGLASS MODE PRIVACY

Sunglass Mode is a browser extension for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium browsers. It dims page content in tabs that belong to browser tab groups selected by the user.

The extension only changes the visual appearance of page content by adding a dimming overlay. It does not modify browser UI such as the tab strip.

Sunglass Mode does not collect, sell, share, transmit, or store your browsing history, page contents, search history, personal information, or website activity on any 9o4t Inc server.

The extension does not use analytics, advertising trackers, cookies, remote logging, or third-party tracking scripts.

Sunglass Mode stores only the settings needed for the extension to work: selected tab group IDs and the dimming opacity value.

These settings are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They are not sent to 9o4t Inc.

Browser tab group IDs can change between browser sessions, so Sunglass Mode periodically removes stale group IDs from local storage.

Sunglass Mode uses tab and tab group permissions to determine whether the current tab belongs to a group that you chose to dim.

It uses scripting permission only to add, update, or remove the local dimming overlay on supported web pages.

It uses http://*/* and https://*/* host permissions so the dimming overlay can run on ordinary websites in user-selected tab groups.

It does not request permission to run on local file:// pages.

The extension includes an optional Ko-fi support link in the popup. The Ko-fi page opens only if you choose to click that link.

Ko-fi is a third-party service with its own privacy practices. 9o4t Inc does not control Ko-fi's website or privacy policy.

Sunglass Mode does not run on restricted browser pages such as chrome://, edge://, extension pages, the Chrome Web Store, or the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store.
